When should we stop naptime?

When ready...: Which means, a consistently alert, happy child throughout the day, most days, not becoming sleepy or cranky until actual bedtime. Some (rarely) achieve it by 1 year of age; and in some countries, it is considered normal never to achieve it (siesta).

Around 5 years: Most kids go to school, other activities like piano lessons, dancing, skating etc.Around 5 to 6 naps end up shorter or completely cut off and child goes to sleep around 7 to 9 pm tired and ready to sleep. They wake up around 6 to 8 am. At this time there should not be a sleeping problem if they have been trained earlier.
