1 year no period: Medically, menopause is defined as 1 year without a period. Blood tests don't predict the date of the final period or when 1 year will pass. During the menopause transition, typically in mid 40s to early 50s, periods become increasingly irregular, and symptoms such as hot flashes or vaginal dryness can occur. If these are disruptive, see your doctor.
