IBD: Colonoscopy and egd are also used to evaluate for inflammatory conditions of the bowel as well as infectious conditions. You are not too young for a colonoscopy. You are too young if you are discussing a screening colonoscopy and are average risk for colon cancer. A diagnostic colonoscopy is to evaluate specific symptoms, which serves a different purpose.
