What is important for me to drink while breastfeeding?

Water...: ...Mostly water. Milk is good to supply the calcium, protein, and vitamin d that you are in turn feeding to the baby, but cow's milk sometimes causes allergy in mom, baby, or both, but if both of you are happy, cow milk for mom is good. Mom's milk is, of course, best for baby.

Water: Women who are breastfeeding need to ensure that they stay well hydrated. Eating well balanced meals and drinking plenty of water are very important to both mother and baby.

Yes: Drink when you feel thirsty-- there's no reason to "overdrink"-- but you will need to replace the fluids that your baby is taking.
