Myostatin prevents: Overgrowth of muscles. Some bodybuilders & athletes wish to block this protein. As of 2012, no myostatin-inhibiting drugs for humans are on the market, but an antibody genetically engineered to neutralize myostatin was developed; after an initial clinical trial, the company says they will not be developing the drug. Myostatin may be decreased by creatine supplements, that should be used w caution.
