Yes: Foul smelling discharge needs to be evaluated. The most common cause is a nonsexually transmitted overgrowth of bacteria called bacterial vaginosis. Testing for other sexually transmitted disease may need to be done as well.

See your doctor: If you continue to notice odor and the beginning of other symptoms, such as discharge, you may be starting an infection. See your doctor to rule out a bladder or vaginal infection. Make sure to use the bathroom after sex and do not douche. Douching interrupts the normal balance of good flora in the vagina and can cause infection. You can also try condoms for a while to see if odor goes away.
