Many things: Hearing loss can be due to problems of your outer ear, ear canal, ear drum, middle ear, inner ear, hearing nerve, and your brain. The nature of the hearing loss needs to be determined with a hearing test and medical evaluation.

Hearing loss : Unilateral hearing loss occurs commonly from infection or a plugged ear canal. Fortunately these types will usually improve with treatment. Tumors, trauma, stroke, or multiple sclerosis can also cause one sided hearing loss. An appointment with your primary care doctor is indicated to get diagnosed.
