Running pain: You shouldn't generally have knee pain after running. It may require some investigation, a more gradual approach, or new footwear. Once you have the pain anti-inflammatories, tylenol (acetaminophen) and ice are helpful.

Knee pain: First check to see that your shoes fit properly and that your running is not irritating your knees due to poor mechanics. If pain continues then see your doctor. Meanwhile try ice to the knees after running. Consider changing exercise from running to something like bike riding or rowing.
