Antibiotics?: Antibiotics are not used to treat breakthrough bleeding (btb). If you are taking a combination (estrogen/progestin) pill, you can try taking one pill twice daily for 5 to 7 days. The extra estrogen should stabilize the lining of your uterus. Definitely call your doctor to get his or her input.
