Several reasons: This could be due to several causes such as migraine with aura, or a transient ischemic attack which usually last minutes to hours. Occasionally, simple partial seizures affect the face only and last for just a few seconds to minutes. They more commonly involve other parts of the body as well. There are other less common causes (teeth or jaw-related). Check with your doctor for a neuro evaluation.
