Less than 1/2 hr: Preparation and paperwork takes longer than actual biopsy. Expect less than 1/2 hr for the biopsy , may vary depending on location and complexity.

Hy: The patient is scanned to confirm and localize the abnormality - this could take 20-30 min. The preparation and biopsy another 20 minutes total - probably 45 min. To 1 hr. Including confirmation of specimen adequacy.
