Hemorrhoids: A hemorrhoid, when swollen and protruding from the anal canal feels like a "ball" or soft polyp. When it shrinks after treatment or dissipates after rupture, it involutes and can feel like a depressed "hole." this is not uncommon. If the problem persist and you experience pain, fever, or brisk bleeding, contact your doctor.

Drainage: It sounds like your hemorrhoid may have drained itself, and thus why you see the hole. I would suggest you see your primary care physician to evaluate and ensure that it is resolving without any complications.
