If your period lasts for 6-7 days, and unprotected sex occurs 3 days later, sperm can live for 48-72 hours, which makes pregnancy possible. If your cycle is delayed, wait a week and obtain a serum HCG test to be certain about possible pregnancy.

Pregnancy is known to have occured from sex in any and all days of a cycle. The odds of getting pregnant are better from sex with in a day before ovulation. If you do not wish to be pregnant, use contraception all the time, every time. You may consider implanted contraceptive, or IUD.
