I would consider : Checking to see if u have antibodies, if so you have already been exposed. Otherwise he can decrease the amount of virus he is shedding by using valacyclovir 500 mg or 1 gm per day, condom use also recommended. This will dramatically reduce the chances of getting it but if he feels iit coming on, refrain of course.
