Antibiotics: Quick response will require antibiotics. Longer term it needs to combined with prescription topical medications. Laser can yield very quick results on the face in 2-3 weeks but is less useful on the back be ause of the thicker skin. In severe cases Accutane is an option. Discuss with dermatologist.

IPL/ cosmetic laser: If you are looking for rapid results that can do it. Otherwise good skin care will help, cleanser and moisturizer. Proactiv is great for acne.
