Perhaps: There are a number of reasons that can cause heat sensation of the masseter. You may want to consider seeing someone that deals with myofacial pain to try and identity the cause. With so many variables that could play a factor, it would be difficult to identify any single cause without a thorough evaluation by a doctor.

Not likely: Larger masseter are usually seen in patients who are bruxers. And both sides right and left masseter gets enlarged evenly. It is very unlikely that you would have a unilateral heat sensation due to larger muscle. Is the area red, swollen or tender? First rule out infection or irritation in that region. Next, i would recommend you consult a neurologist if no other cause is seen.
