Yes, that's the time: To start treatment, at the point of first symptoms. The outcome is far better over time. But make sure that indeed you have ms, and testing confirms the presence. Do not delay starting your meds, as you may be able to delay the full expression of the disease.

Possible to have MS: It is possible to have MS if you have few, early, or even no symptoms, but it is probably not good to do testing for cases that are not likely to be MS. It is better to say what the symptoms are, and if test results are available, use those to build the case. Obviously, you would not want treatment unless it would be of benefit.
