Panic: Etiology is biopsychosocial, which means genetics (bio) & predisposition due to personality makeup (psycho) & in relation to experiencing exposure to traumas or fearful situations (social). It is hypersensitivity of the alarm system in our brain (fight-flight mechanismor thermostat) which goes haywire during attack & produces excess adrenaline which makes us panic.
