Not indicated: Straightening "bowed" legs is not indicated. The only exception to this is in patients with moderate to severe " tibia vara" a condition that manifests in childhood and adolescents.

Yes: The surgery to straighten out a bowed leg would increase the vertical distance of the lower extremity and thus make you taller in most cases. The amount of height gain would be based upon the amount of deformity you have and the amount of correction achieved. Thank you for your question.
