Congenital tendency?: I'm not an eye doc, but your young age suggests you may have a congenital anomaly that would predispose you to this. I found one called asteroid hyalosis. Look it up and see if it fits.

Most: Of the time, floaters are benign shadows that are from the vitreous in the middle of the eye. New floaters should be evaluated by a dilated eye exam.
