Not likely: While staph lives on the skin, so "could" come from rough sex even w/condom, much more likely due to tampon left in too long.

Neither: Decades ago the material used in tampons provided a better environment for staph to live. Occasional cases of toxic shock syndrome were associated with prolonged use. The material was changed & now this is rarely seen. Staph are skin surface dwellers and seldom found within the sex organs.
