Specialist testing: Every physician knows that there are a variety of types of dyslexia. If you want special arrangements for your education / testing, you'll need formal testing. Otherwise, the only question is, "will some intervention help me do the things i want to do at this stage of my life?" even if you have a mild reading handicap that can be documented, the answer may be, "no." good luck & be careful.

Phonological aware- : ness, ability to judge the number, order, sameness/difference of sounds in words, is deficient in dyslexia. You'd have had difficulty learning to read in KG- 2nd grade, then reading to learn in grades 3 & up, since deficient decoding skills preclude reading fluency. Recent-onset difficulty with reading comprehension requires neuropsychological evaluation for attention, memory or cognitive problems
