Drink lots of fluids: The biggest reason for morbidity and mortality from intestinal infections is dehydration. You need to stay well hydrated. Drink kool-aid, gatoraid, chicken soup or other broth to ensure the best absorption of fluids and to replace your electrolytes. Sugar, salt and other electrolytes actually improve your ability to absorb water. See, your jewish mother was right, chicken soup is good for you!
