Yes: Some medications are treacherous in making you horribly sad or thoughtless-happy-wild. Reserpine, an old antihypertensive, caused an epidemic of suicides, and even today, people with unexplained "mental illness" may not realize the cause is in a pill bottle. This is a very good question. Be alert.
