See doctor: You should be examined by doctor to determine cause of chest pain which can include ge reflux, costochondritis, pneumonia, pleuritis, to name a few. Your physician then will order the appropriate tests (chest xray, VQ scan, ct of chest or treat symptoms medically according to etiology.

Go to the hospital: Symptoms: shortness of breath, chest pain, "feeling of impending doom". If you do it is potentially life -threatening . Go to the hospital.
