How big?: Lymph node enlargement, or "lymphadenopathy" is usually reactive, meaning a normal response of your immune system to something that it sees as foreign. If a lymph node is bigger than 1.5-2cms, it warrants further testing such as a needle biopsy. Depending on the location of the ln, this can usually be done in a surgeon's office, especially if they have ultrasound capabilities.
