A member asked:

Can you die from a ritalin (methylphenidate) overdose?

Quite possibly: While generally a safe drug, Ritalin (methylphenidate) is considered a stimulant, which means it does affect things like heart rate and blood pressure. Just like with any stimulant, there is the risk of heart attack, stroke, etc., particular with higher dosages.

Not likely: Unless you have an underlying hear rhythm abnormality, there is little likelyhood of dieing from an excessive dose of Ritalin (methylphenidate). You would have to take an enormous dose to be a danger
