Get screened: Your "jock" can't beat your "genes." even athletes get varicose veins, and they are more driven by your genetics & personal construction than anything. Should get a screening exam by a vascular doc, as if bad, and only going to worsen, may be better tolerated to get addressed while younger / healthier. The pin/needle is from how you sit on toilet, which pinches nerve underside of leg, not bad.

Two problems?: I agree with dr. Alves. It is worth getting an evaluation of the varicose veins in your left leg. It could be possible that the pins and needles are vein related, but it is unlikely. Regardless, seeing a vein specialist (phlebologist) and getting an ultrasound evaluation of your veins will tell you what can be done about your veins and what your best course of action is.

Consiult Phlebology: Your legs should be evaluated by a vein specialist and possibly by a neurologist. There may be 2 separate processes effecting your legs.
