Get worked up: Any licensed physician is able to perform a "transaminasitis" workup. Best is to stop alcohol and all non-essential rx's including painkillers for two weeks; if that does not normalize things, proceed to rule out hepatitis, hemochromatosis, and wilson's; if this is done, consider the metabolic syndrome.
