Upper endoscopy: Before the endoscopy, you will have nothing to eat or drink before midnight. The nurse will place an IV, sedation will be administered, and a flexible scope will be passed through your mouth and down into the second portion of your intestines normally. After the endoscopy, they will explain the findings to you. You cannot drive until the next day. Pathology findings will be followed up later.
