None: Fear not! procedure is generally harmless and painless. Usually they will sedate you few minutes prior to the procedure which may last from 15-30 minutes. You will be fasting overnight prior to having an endoscopy. So there will anxious anticipation but trust your GI dr. Somebody has to drive you home after the procedure bec. You may be drowsy from the sedative. God bless you friend!

Upper endoscopy: Before the endoscopy, you will have nothing to eat or drink before midnight. The nurse will place an IV, sedation will be administered, and a flexible scope will be passed through your mouth and down into the second portion of your intestines normally. After the endoscopy, they will explain the findings to you. You cannot drive until the next day. Pathology findings will be followed up later.
