A member asked:

What are the chances my daughter will have the same allergies that i have?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Tendency, yes, but : If you and or the child's father have allergies their is a good chance your kid could develop some in her lifetime. However, you do not transfer a list of allergies to the child, at most you transfer the genetic tendency. Say you are allergic to nuts & break out in hives when exposed, she doesn't necessarily inherit the same allergy, but might develop an allergy to strawberries(or nuts).
