Not ovulating: Check a pregnancy test first. Spotting without a normal cyclic period means that you are not ovulating. There are lots of causes such as pcos, thyroid disease, too much weight gain or weight loss. Schedule a visit with your obgyn so they can go through your history and run some very basic tests.
