Can help w/ Anxiety: Gabapentin is a medication that works on the neurohormone gaba. Gaba plays less of a role on modd than serrotonin, however, still has some effect. It is often used of label to help with depression, anxiety, fibromyalgia, and bipolar disorder. It is almost always used in combination with other medications when used to treat mood disorders.

Not FDA approved: Yes. Gabapentin is prescribed off label to treat anxiety. Commonly generalized anxiety disorder and social anxiety disorder.
