Thirst, urination...: Classic symptoms are excessive thirst, increased urination, increased hunger, weight loss, fatigue, dizziness, and blurred vision due to high blood sugar level, loss of sugar/fluid in urine and resulting dehydration.

Weight loss too: Elaborating on the first answer: in children diabetes classically presents with increased thirst, appetite and dramatic and sudden weight loss. (they drink like a fish, eat like a horse and still lose weight rapidly). This occirs over a period of a week or two.
