Yes: Over the counter anti diarrhea medications are safe to use. If your diarrhea is not going away after about 48 hours, you should see your doctor.

I don't recommend: In many cases, the way your body gets rid of the germ or substance that's causing the diarrhea to begin with is to poop it out. By using anti-diarrheals you're keeping that cause inside you, and possibly prolonging the illness. Rather, keep yourself well hydrated, avoid excessive fat or sugar which can cause more diarrhea, and take a daily probiotic to help heal your guts. You'll be better off.
