Lactose: Milk sugar intolerance. As we get older we become more intolerant to milk sugar. The milk sugar in chocolate and milk runs through the intestinal tract and may cause cramping and diarrhea as well as gas and bloating. Try drinking lactaid milk in which the milk sugar has already been digested. If taking milk chocolate, try a lactaid pill at the time of ingestion, to replace the missing enzyme.
