A member asked:

What is a cervical polyp and how does it form?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Mucus lining: Any organ with a mucus-producing, glandular lining can form an outpouching, though we are not sure why this occurs in some people and not others. Other common sites of polyps are in the colon, stomach, and nasal lining. Cervical polyps are rarely cancerous, but should be removed and sent for pathology.
