Pain: Frostbite occurs with prolonged exposure to cold temperatures. It doesn't have to be freezing outside to get it. First fingers, toes feel cold, then they start to hurt, and then they start to have a burn like sensation. Fingers turn red first, then they may get bluish. Pain is the dominate symptom and not subtle.
