Yeast infection: The most common cause of vaginal itching is a yeast infection. There are many available over the counter creams. There are other causes that would need evaluation if that does not fix it. Thiswould be unrelated to birth control.

Fungus Infection: Insert terazol (terconazole) -3 vaginal suppository or cream every night for 3 nights. Also use Lotrisone cream on the out side vagina and skin.
