What is the relationship between cancer and oxygenation?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

There are many: It is a very complex interaction and we learn more about these processes all of the time. It depends on which cancer type we are talking about. Malignant cells are alive and active as are all of our cells in our body. They each need oxygen delivered by blood to perform basic metabolism. Chemotherapy and radiation create oxgen radicals inside ca cells to kill them, so o2 is needed to kill them.
