By mouth: Lets start first by saying topicals don't work.. Despite what ads and commercials may tell you. Several oral preparations are available such as itraconazole, terbinafine and fluconazole. Personally i like Fluconazole (and its the cheapest too) which can be pulsed weekly at 150-300mg for 3-6 months for fingernails...6-12 for toenails.

Anti-fungal meds: There are 3 ways to treat toenail fungus. The least effective way is a topical anti-fungal cream. You could also try oral anti-fungal meds but they could cause serious side effects. Laser treatment in new and very effective.

No "quick" fix: There are topical and oral antifungal medications available for the treatment of nail fungus. Specialized lasers are also now available for treatment of fungal nail infections. Have your nails evaluated and get the appropriate treatment.
