It is unusual: To be passing large clots. I assume u r breast feeding. The ovaries may be starting to function again and this will normalize but you may benefit from the birth control pill. Bleeding severity is notably subjective. I doubt seriously that you have retainment of placental tissue as the source but you may have fibroids, etc. I think u should get checked along with a blood count and hcg.
