A member asked:

What are the potential side effects of splenda?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Splenda: Splenda is an artificial sweetener. This chemical is made from sugar and the molecular configuration is changed by adding chloride ions. This chemical is new to the homo sapien and therefore the body has no experience with it before its introduction. There has not been enough time for long range human studies to know how safe it is. There is no way to know what the long range side effects are.
