Stay on course.: "itchy gums" are usually a result of the area forming new bone and gum tissue. This is part of the healing process. A 'hole' where the tooth was may have been caused by the loss of the blood clot there. These areas heal more slowly from the bottom up, but usually heal completely.

Normal healing or no: After an extraction we can have a hole some period of time due to the healing of that area. This healing normally takes around 3-4 months. If the hole is same colour and shade than the gum, it is good sign, just need to have more care cleaning that area, however if the hole is deep, different colour, you could have a chronic infection. It will always be resorbed with a follow up appointment.
