Depends: The answer depends on what birth control method you are using. First check a pregnancy test to make sure you are not pregnant. Depoprovera, Mirena (levonorgestrel) iud and Implanon can call cause you to not have a period. Some types of birth control periods can cause very light periods. Most pills, the patch and NuvaRing will still give you a period.

It depends: If you mean birth control pills, if you're taking them consistently without missed pills, pregnancy is unlikely and its possible to miss your period. With other methods of birth control (like the shot or the implant), missed periods or changes in your period are common.
