Abnormal bleeding: Depends on your history, medications, exam, and symptoms. A qualified doctor will be able to examine you, rule out pregnancy, polyps, cysts, infection, and when appropriate, perform additional testing such as ultrasound, cytology, cultures, lab work, etc to determine the cause. If your periods are usually regular, you may have just had an irregular cycle/anovulatory cycle. Go get checked out.
