Yes, if you live.: While it may seem that glasses are causing your eyes to deterioriate, it is actually the wear and tear of aging that causes your eyes to lose their ability to see well up close. I sometimes say that it is a birthday present from mother nature and father time that should be accepted graciously, then attacked by glasses, contact lenses, refractive surgery or possibly lens replacement surgery.
