Why do rashes spread so easily?

Some spread some not: Some rashes can be contagious from one part of the body to others. Some rashes represent the over enthusiasm of the immune system to a virus or infection and since the virus is everywhere in the body, so is the rash. Other rashes don't spread at all. It really depends on the rash.
