A member asked:

What roll will a pain clinic play in diagnosing or treating spinal stenosis?

Safe pain management: Spinal stenosis will probably be diagnosed via imaging, like ct or mri. A pain clinic may help a person safely manage pain through a proper combination of therapies including medications. Pain clinic is especially useful if surgery is not an option for a person. I encourage you to talk with your doctor about your questions. Good luck. Lgromkomd.

Initial care: Pain clinics can diagnose and offer some nonsurgical treatment options for symptomatic spinal stenosis. However, for refractory sciatica from severe stenosis, the most effective treatment is surgical decompression by a ortho spine surgeon or neurosurgeon.
