Need evaluation: Lupus is an autoimmune disorder where the body "reacts against self" for unknown reasons. Lupus can be difficult to diagnose and requires blood tests. Almost all patients with lupus have joint pain/arthritis and many have chest pain, fatigue, fever, hair loss, mouth sores, sensitivity to sunlight and rash on face. Almost any body organ system can be affected. Asthma is not associated with lupus.
